Joan Murray survived after falling 14,500 feet above


Joan Murray was 47 years old at the time of the accident. She worked as a banker and skydived as a hobby. She had completed 35 jumps before her 36th jump on January 25, 1999.


Joan Murray suffered multiple injuries from the fall, including a shattered pelvis, broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a massive blood loss. She underwent 20 surgeries and spent two weeks in a coma. She also developed an infection and a blood clot in her lungs. She was given a 1% chance of survival.


Joan Murray miraculously recovered from her injuries after months of rehabilitation. She learned to walk again with the help of a cane. She returned to work and resumed her normal life. She also went back to skydiving two years after the accident.
